Kidnapped
Another local film up this week, by Kelvin Tong this time round. I think there are many talented film makers locally and it's kind of heartening that each one has their own style. I would rate the film a 3.5*. Personally, I feel that the pace of the story is good, and I must add that the background music does play a huge part in making my heart beat faster. The film editing is quite good as well, and the filming is certainly not amateurish. Phyllis Quek was surprisingly good in her role, but I was kind of disappointed with Chris Lee's overly facial focused performace. It was good in some scenes but it just felt too similar after seeing it in different scenes. If only he can be more subtle in portraying his anxiety & anger at different points and I will rate it more favourably =) Still, it's a highly suspense thriller-filled film if you are in for some adrenaline rush. What's more, it's a LOCAL FILM =)
