The Halcyon days of 21st

It has been some time since I was immersed in the celebration mode of a 21st Bday and I must say that I feel OLD ! Haiz~ Sarah's 21st, at Fairway Club, she kind of booked the whole KTV lounge. Verene and I embarrassed ourselves by picking up the mikes for 2 songs.

Slice of life

Im totally in love with Serangoon Gardens lately as there are so many eateries I have yet to discover.Compared to Holland V, the area gives me the slightly more laid-back feeling (which is a great respite whenever Im feeling a liitle tensed up), the less congested feel and simply the feeling of more space and air to breathe. I went to this one recently, Astons, which serves commendable western food. It seriously reminds me of Botak Jones, in terms of menu, food presentation, chilli fries. And I must say the service is great though the waiting time of 15-20min might get some people impatient. Overall, I will still come back again if anyone wants me to bring them there (my shameless excuse to eat again) =)

Succumbed

I totally succumbed to the heat of the morning, to the sun and to other runners who chose to walk at some point in time. Shit Im so disappointed with my weak endurance ! To think that the last time when I ran 15km in Army I still can clock 1.5hr and today is a freaking poor timing of 1:58. GOSH ! Haha.

My analysis for my lacklustre performace today: Ran in empty stomach at 744am, body not accustomed to morning run considering the fact that I run usually between 12-1 am, lack of water, inadequate stretching. LoL. Im such a reason-ed person. Still I completed it, be it running or walking. And I only walked 1 or 2 km probably, which means I ran at least 13km =)

Anyway no regrets waking up at 530am to go changi to run =) At least its a good experience. The NEW BALANCE REALRUN. Haha. Its not called a REALrun for no reason. We have to run through different terrains, road, beach. Totally challenging when I expected a flat road. The last 5km was seemingly endless, and the numerous waterpoints just provide me an excuse to walk towards it instead of jogging.

And guess what ! I had leg cramp towards the last 1 km. My muscles just felt tight, so I was practically strolling towards the ending point with everyone brushing past me.

Im glad there are friends who are willing to join such a race ! We shouldnt always be eating, watching movies or shopping.

Despite my serious lack of sleep, met up with next sem's GIP peeps at Food of thought near bugis to impart information to them. It has been a year and batches of students come and go.

Time stops for no one.

ABCC

10 Teams, 10 Universities, 6 countries. 1 winner.

Its a crazy week where I was involved in AMbassador role in ABCC, Asian Business Case Competition. Teams had 40 hrs to complete a CASE. Im kinda glad its all over =) I have never arrived in NTU at 620am before, first time been to NEC, and seriously I can never imagine how smart some people can be. The whole week has made me feel like I am such a small shrimp in the ocean =( Time to get out of my comfort zone and face the world !

Despite the tinge of inferiority complex throughout the week, it has been great meeting and observing people, not just the foreigners but also the business solutions peeps as well. I dunno if its a fortunate or unfortunate thing to be the ambassador for the NTU team, well I guess on the whole its not so bad as I imagined.

The week kickoff on Monday with Experience Singapore. We went on the Hippo Bus in the morning, followed by Duck tour in the afternoon and dinner at Timbre. I have to mentioned again how boring the duck tour was that Ms Lui WQ had to don her shades in a bid sleep!

Dinner was not bad, buffet and my first time at this sunstation branch due to my two past failed attempts to enter.

Seriously I was damn tired at the end of the night. All the music, mingling, games~

Roundtable lunch on tuesday. Its the first time I was in such a formal dinner, attire was formal suit and every table has to deal with a topic in relation to the Green Economy and business sustainability. My table was on Finance and it was good just seeing how the participants throw ideas over lunch. After lunch the CASE was released and it was the official start of the competition ! The mood just became so tensed up.

Finally on thursday it was CASE submission, semi-finals, and grand finals. I have the honor of watching the NTU team present, they are the first team to present. Shao Fei, Geraldine, Zhen hao and Qi Yang. They are probably one of the brightest in NBS. And I have to say Im impressed with the way Geraldine presents. She is so quick-minded and calm in the Q&A section. And their slides were professionally done. I thought they stand a chance to enter finals but well...

GALA dinner at night at ACM ! Finally a nice finale to the week =) The winner was the team from Uni of South California, kinda expected as what everyone says.
