Happy Times

Yesterday was a day packed with events, but also one with many unexpected twists. Initially Bao Nieu Tien(BNT) was supposed to go for Ubin cycling, but it was cancelled on friday nite as some people couldn't make it and largely also because of the wet weather these days. I was relieved it was postponed, as yesterday's weather was not ideal, which adds to the challenge of cycling in Ubin.

Being glad that my morning is free, My mum and I went to Kbox in Chinatown for Klunch. Cool rite? SHe was rattling that we should go once before I leave next month for my long stint in another side of the world, and I think the last time we went kbox was like few years ago. It was a nice session, as I can sing at ease with her around. I do not need to feel pai seh for hogging the mike, I do not need to be embarrassed when I sing badly etc. It's just that I'm singingthe newer songs while she travels back to the 80s. Yawns*. The afternoon was completed when we went to the famous dessert shop in CHinatown for mango pudding and walnut paste(which is not to my liking). The LZY Bak Kua was heavenly too. Anw u guys shd go kbox with yr parents too if they dun dislike singing :) In the evening, I went to cine to meet up with BFG. And finally saw CK since the end of sem 2. Happy B'day once again! It's so rare for BFG to have full attendences these days, as everyone is doing different things during these hols. Beginning to treasure the times when all of us are around, which is definitely not something that happens naturally. It needs the effort of everyone, just that pz only came when potato left or else we could have taken a family portrait. Haha. So far BFG is my most fun project gp in NTU :)

After dinner, we went to PS Gelare to chill and had a surprise slice of cake for CK. Hopefully CK is surprised by it. Anw we got him a chocolate fondue machine! So envious manz. I want also got nobody to give me. But it's quite a hassle to clean up after eating from the fondue machine. I would like to go for the JB outing this coming week, see if I can take leave. ANd if u guys r really going bangkok in Dec, I will have to give it a miss :( I love BK.
I left early as I gotta rush to Katong to meet 43 peeps at Settlers. I have to admit I was very disappointed the night cycling was cancelled. Wai Han even printed out the routes we can take. And I brought such a ugly and bulky bag so as to change. But still, our class could not make it. We are almost there, yet we could not achieve what was planned. Im not pinning any more hopes on possible cycling outings, as somehow I do not understand why it's so hard to be fulfilled. Hopefully before sch reopens it will happen, somehow.

But still, it was quite fun at settlers, just that I wasn't very energetic last nite, as work really saps my energy. I think the gift game is the best, it just leaves u surprised with what some people like and dislike. Im quite predictable, most of them gave me the right presents. Haha. Anw we shd go Mind's next time, the games r more fun. I like the GAME of Expressions, the one I played with Jason and Nuan before. It's a funny game :)

@Settlers
We left at midnight and went to the opposite HK cafe for supper, and for my late dinner. Yeah I haven had dinner till then. The prices r so much more reasonable compared to XW cafe, which is damn overpriced. I had french toast + Noodle with Egg and sausage. As usual, we always ended up taking about relationship stuff.

It's scary that age is creeping up on us.
It's scary that we have to think about getting married with our next partner.
It's scary that we r all gonna work soon.
It's scary that time is not on our side like before while we r in JC.
And It's scary that our planet is dying away.
It's getting scarier as we live each day, as uncertainties unfold, as people get more complex.

Despite all the above, Im happy with warmth from Family and Friends,Luv u guys Lotz :)

If Only

While I was going home after work today at chinatown mrt, this foreign family approached me on how to buy the MRT ticket to Orchard. I helped them press the machine as they looked as if whats in front of them is alien. Initially I thought they were Thai so I did attempt to ask them in my broken Thai where they r heading. Then after asking them, they said they are Vietnamese. Wow. I rarely see Vietnamese in Spore as tourists so I reckon they must be quite rich. At that instant, I felt this sense of familiarity once again, like Im back in Vietnam. So I led them into the train and told them to alight at Dhoby Got to change train. I made a very lame attempt to utter some vietnamese words, so I said Xin Chao(hello) to the father, whom I tink is surprised by it, then we started chatting and he says he lived near Ben Thern Market area in HCM city. Before they left, I even said Cam On (Thank you) to the father, whom then asked if I can speak Vietnamese. So hilarious! The fact is that other then knowing Mont Hai Ba... Xin CHao, Cam On and of cos Bao Neu Dien, thats about it. Im not even a beginner at the language. How I regret.

If only I was more hardworking in mastering the language like Chris back in Viet, I would be able to strike a decent conversation.

If only I've a greater flair in languages, I would be able to recommend him places to shop and visit in spore.

If only I can speak Vietnamese, I can relate to him how much I love Vietnam.

If only, if only, if only...

But still, I feel proud that I have done a small part in leaving a good impression of Sporeans in their mind, al least by being approachable.

My vietnam project is finally done last friday after being troubled by it since in Vietnam. The random meetings, group shuffling, researching, thinking, meetings... Really must thank my group, KX, Susan, Jess, Jasmine, CH for being so nice and understanding gp mates. U all have been so patient and tolerant. All of u worked hard! Hope we will fare well :)

Happy Belated to XX again!

Finally met up wif 43 yesterday... it was a damn good gathering. We finally saw siying after 7 months as she was stationed in Sweden the 1st half of the year. U r such a lucky gal! Hope watever that happened to u after u came back will happen to me also. Lol. Oh me, Wai han and sheeyee sprang up at sushi tei to surprise XX and the effect was rather drama, yeah it's cliched but who cares. When we lighted the cake, we even made our feeble attempt to create smoke using watever dry ice we had. It was a nice celebration!

Me wif Ying & Lynnie
We went party world after our late lunch at sushi tei and it was a great time singing wif them. I think me, ying and lynnie's voice blended very well when we sang Right Here Waiting and All out of Love. And I made another discovery. Ying has such a sweet voice that I never knew previously. Haha. It's never too late to realize though.

Lynnie & Des

Ying & Max
After our long Party session, we went to Glutton Square to join Daryl, Shee yee and waihan again. Oh we missed the stop to alight while on the bus and had to BEG the driver to alight us before the bus 36 goes to ECP. Anw I had a very heartening dinner at Glutton. The local fares are so heavenly, esp the stingray. And the band at DXO really kept us glued to our seats as their music is so pleasing to the ears. And I must admit I felt very good when I heard wat Siying and Lynn said as we were walking :)

Truly Satisfied after a hearty meal
Then we went home and while I have showered, siting comfortably in front of my comp, XX called and JIOed for supper wif Daryl. It was 1 plus. After comtemplating, I decided to join since daryl is fetching us. We went Xin Wang at Kovan and chatted till 5am, broke our previous record which was like 4am. Anw great thanx to Daryl for sending us back despite the exhaustion and trouble and rain. It's great to vent some of my inner thoughts, things which have been buried for so long, and I dunno how I will tackle it, currently very luan but ultimately, I gotta face it still. Thanks for all the advice, esp from the gals!

Shag but Happy times spent

A long Return
I have not blogged for ages since I got back from Vietnam coz I have been really busy wif alot of stuff... Project work, Taiwan trip, some personal stuff, meeting up wif friends etc. Actually I wanted to do a detaied journal on the taiwan trip but since I sent my lappy for service and dun have the info in my desktop, I shall just blog randomly abt the events that took place in Taiwan. It's a fun trip, definitely better than last year when I went wif another group of people. The company really really matters when u travel. Even if it's to JB, u can have lotsa fun if u go wif the right clique. I finally have time to catch up with BFG during this trip, though CK and BB are not wif us.

Alrite we spent 3 nights in Taichung and 4 nights in Taipei. Both hotels are comfortable. After NS, anywhere wif a bed is a luxury. I would say we covered quite alot of places within this 8 days trip... From Taichung to Sun Moon Lake to Feng Jia Night Market to Yi Zhong Night Market to Alishan toZhong Hua night market to Hua Lian National Park to Xi Men Ding to Wu Fen Pu to Jiu Fen to Ji Long to Dan Shui to Bei Tou to Shi Lin... very extensive I would say. It's a myraid of Sightseeing and shopping and I savoured the experience of being a tour guide in the process.
We went to the shopping centre in Tai CHung with the nicest toilets I have ever seen. Nope we didnt pee in the toilets but take pics non-stop. Below is a Pub theme toilet, it's damn cool!
This is a coca-cola theme toilet:
Trying out the urinal, doesnt feel any different:At the top of a pagoda we visited in Sun Moon Lake, great view there!
A monk for few seconds
We booked the whole yacht to ourselves for a tour around the famous lake
The nicest group pic I feel, u r utterly wrong if all u can tink about in Taiwan is SHopping
Our countless best attempt to self-take in the rainy weather at the ALishan Peak
How many rainbows do u see, observe very carefully:
We saw rainbows a few times along our way down from Alishan, one of the nicest view I captured, it's totally captivating:
The best sunset I have witnessed in my life, the ride down from Alishan, breathtaking:
Feeling cool and looking cool
The building needs no introduction Perfect pic completed with nice cottage & greeny grass with gorgeous peepsHow can I miss out on the Harry Phenomenon The most smelly place I ever dined inThe best night market I ever shopped in, nope it's not Shilin but Feng Jia in Taichung Our hugely exaggerated rewards from Jiu Fen, including all the Sun BiscuitsAt the lifeless Gay Pub we cruised in, dun get any wrong ideas people Love the Won Bin Portrait greatlyMini Disney Land at the airport
My narcissist moment, try to bear wif my pics if it makes u puke
It's just me, trying out different poses all the time
Hope all of u guys had fun in this trip :)

Can I buy time?

These few days have been very busy for me. I felt that I couldn't even rest properly. After returning from Vietnam, it has been project meetings, meeting up with friends, doing research at home, preparing for my Taiwan trip on Monday... I think im quite incredible, according to Dilys. Anway I managed to catch Transformers with my project mates and I was not impressed by it. Me and KX even fell asleep at same point. Maybe it's not the show's fault, but rather we have not been having enough rest since we got back. I managed to go Klunch with XX too, a very fulfilling session.
Lunch at Han's
We still feel tourisy, took pics at the WAR memorial in cityhall
Yesterday I finally managed to meet up with Potato for dinner, got more updated about wats happening here. Then I met Jason and Nuan for French Dinner along serangoon road. It was not bad, but I still feel it's abit expensive, amounts to 20 odd per person. Then we went Jason's place to watch 200 pounds beauty DVD and enjoy the Bailey's we had. The movie is overrated I guess, predictable plot and not exactly a comedy I feel, more like a romance show. Oh and I finished about half a tub of ice cream there, and ended up being called a pink since I was wearing pink also. The ice cream evaporated I tink, I did not eat all. Haha. The baileys really tasted quite milky, as it was my 1st time tasting it.
A very relaxed time @Jason's house
I must apologise to my project mates for my absence in Singapore next week, hope u guys will do fine and I will join u guys once I return... Meanwhile, look forward to the snacks I will bring back for u all :) Its the long awaited taiwan trip tmr, and I finally can catch up with BFG as I have not seen most of them since exams ended last sem. It has been a long long time. And this trip was like discussed in March, ya we kind of plan it back then for very long. Hope its gonna be fun fun fun in Taiwan with u guys :)
