Certainly not Hurting
Weekday night movie with the partial V =) The film was officially released locally last September but was given a Re-run in theatres lately.I have to say that I gotta agree with the Academy on The Hurt Locker. Seriously, I did have some expectations due to the accolades the film swept up recently but still, I am no serious fan of military genre film. The film turned out to be great, and I was really impressed with the sound mixing, as it played a crucial part in raising the trepidation in the audiences while anticipating when the next blow up will strike. I think the whole film is about Respect towards the bomb squad as in the movie, and I guess this is also regardless of whatever profession anyone is in.
Personally, I felt that most parts of The Hurt Locker was filmed realistically, and I really like the Cinematography. I was really curious where on earth the movie was filmed and true enough, it definitely wasn’t filmed in Iraq but in neighbouring Jordan, apparently just miles from the Iraqi border.
Apart from its Best Film & Best Director awards, it also won technical awards for Best Original Screenplay, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing & Best Film Editing.
