Slice of LifeI decided to be anecdotal today. I only have 15 cents with me this morning when i went to the market. So, I told the nice Auntie selling Mee sheepishly that I am penniless and will pay her few hours later when I go to work nearby. I was very happy that she is so willing to allow me to Otang and told me no hurry to pay back =)At 12pm, I made my way to work and still feeling bitter that I did not have my intended kopi just now, I went back the same stall and the auntie instantly recognized me (I was silently hoping that she did not) as I ordered and cancelled my order earlier after realizing I brought an empty wallet out. I told her I didn't bring money just now, thats why I "ran away'. Lolx. And here is her reply, "小弟以后如果没有钱不用紧,我认得你,你常跟我买的。就算你没回来还,几毛钱的咖啡也可以请你喝的”It may be something very simple, but at that instant I really felt very touched. Touched by the warmth of the hawkers in my neighbourhood. This is so called 人情味. Sometimes I think that the Heartlanders are the most generous lot of people, and its ironic that sometimes it's the rich who are the most calculative lot.And feeling very 草根 after working in the CC for 2 weeks, I bought my $3m hope today, sipping my Kopi 冰, and with a smile in my heart =)Warmth ~
