Come Along With Me - Hakone, Lake KawaguchiHakoneThere is no regret making the trip to Hakone. I would have missed out on the chance to witness Japan's scenery by forgoing the trip there. Temperature at Hakone was chilly, as the gals struggled to keep themselves warm in the windy weather. The initial bus ride we took to the spot where we began our self-guided tour around the place proved to be a hell-ride for me and pz !
We wanted to take the cruise which is covered in our Hakone pass.
The ominous weather, which is anything but welcoming~
We were excited to hop on the viking ship for our cruise~It was a relaxed, chilly, drizzling, windy 45 min viking cruise.
After which, we were bound for a cable car ride which brought us to our next destination in the region, Owakudani, aka Boiling Valley.
It's one of the most comfortable, spacious and posh cable car I have ever sat, which we had one cabin to ourselves~
We may appear smiley and relaxed when in actual fact, it was cold and windy. And the myth is that, these black eggs are a sign of longevity. Apparently it prolongs our lives by seven years ! A bargain for just 500 yen indeed, believe it or not.
Now you can see why pz kept complaining it was cold. Cos she was in shorts ! I dunno if I should salute her courage though ~
A Black-egged Hello Kitty~ And I did mention how much the Japs adorn the mouthless cat such that they are omipresent.A well-deserved dinner after a long Hakone trip. Curry rice at Tokyo station. It's ultra yummy. The japanese curry just tasted different than those in sg, which made me question the authenticity here.
Anyway be sure to try this in Tokyo! We first saw in Ginza, then at Tokyo Station area. And everytime there is bound to be a long queue, even though it's not cheap at all !
Out of curiosity and showcasing our singaporean trait, we joined the queue to try a little of it.
The verdict: It tasted like apple strudel, but its much nicer than that !
Lake Kawaguchi
It's supposedly the best view to catch Mt Fuji, and so we decided to make a 2 hrs trip there by coach from Shinjuku.
Ice-cream detected again~
We surveyed the area and decided the best way to view Fuji is to take the ropeway to the top. Luckily we saw the ropeway, else we would have seen nothing !
View of Lake Kawaguchi on the way up the ropeway~
The reason we were here for~
The weather wasn't at its best that day. It was cloudy, and our heart sank as the clouds slided in to obscure the snowy peak of Fuji, which makes it a sexy Fuji~ And the finale~
