Shake MeBack from OVE camp yesterday. Still feeling jaded right now. The camp was alright, gotta know new peeps and we were all divided into groups. I am glad I knew KX, Jess and Simin beforehand, feel much better seeing them around rather than people in their respective WSC cliques. We were briefed on our Laos itinery and I must say it's super packed. And my group is the cooking team! Haha. We have to supposedly cook for 100 people in one of the days. Time to hone my cooking skills again. We spent alot of time rehearsing for our cultural performance, which comprise of 4 songs in our different languages. It's not merely memorising the lyrics, but also inputting hilarious chereographs. We managed to get it right at the end of the day. Oh we prepared our educational materials too, gonna teach the kids simple english and maths. And our ambitious plans of building two libraries. I am glad Laos language is akin to Thai, which makes it easier since I am kind of proficient in the latter. Haha. Just need to brush up here and there and I should be able to strike a decent conversation. We spent the night in Hall 16 Jam band room. 10 people, 5 guys and 5 gals squeezed in a tiny room. There is braely space on the floor as it is spreaded with sleeping bags. And early morning the next day after breakfast we went to Karung Guni in Jurong estate for a few hrs, super tiring since we were to poor to have trolleys unlike the real Karung Gunis. So we have to lug all the newspapers from every floor to 1st floor, and then transport everything manually from our respective blocks to this collection point. I guess I underestimated the strength of the gals. Haha. Just a random note: Am I too late, but I kinda of like the bubble tea in JP. I had 2 cups in 2 days, influenced by everyone else. Anw I guess I should really count my lucky stars for being in this OVE trip, cos I heard that more than one hundred peopel in WSC applied and they only chose like 17 people. And considering I did not go through interviews at all (thanks to Jess's offer). Yup I am glad I have this chance to experience a different holiday and widen my horizen further =) Went KTV right after I got home from camp. Wasnt in a good form yesterday as I attempted to showcase my versatility so I need another chance to redeem myself.
The camp kind of strike me hard, after seeing fellow OVE peeps. I've stayed too long in my comfort zone. It is time to shift out and make drastic changes to my current lifestyle. And it shall start next sem...
Eyes wide shut~
