Venice, ItalyBuonesera! Back from 5 days Italy trip. There's not enough time for the whole of Italy of course and after much deliberation, we picked Venice, Pisa and Rome and have to give Florence and Milan a miss this time. Venice is awesomely beautiful, but we only can spare a night there. This city in northern Italy is a must-go in ya lifetime and time is running out, cos it will sink soon in the near future. It's a recent city which made me go WOW once again, and the extent it impresses me surely surpassed that of Paris, which is overrated. Can u imagine a city with no cars, no buses, no roads but just water, river and waterbus? I have no idea how this city did it until I saw it and experienced it. People either walk(and probably get lost) or hop on the waterbus(akin to our bus) or watertaxis for the richer folks. There is no bustop but waterbustop. Walking is customary here, not to mention getting lost within the narrow streets which looks similar everywhere. The only person who wun get lost is supposedly the postman. The Grand Canal, Venice
Gondolas are aplenty, and some houses even have personal boats parked outside their doorstep. It feels different when u r greeted by water the moment u open yr door.

Piazza San Macro, the famous bell tower
The number of pigeons at the Piazza just left me astounded, and the craze of tourists taking pics wif the pigeons left me bewildered when we dun give a hoot when we see them in Singapore. Arent pigeons a pest? Whatever. Guess they add more excitement to the place. Yeah we went into the famous St Mark Basilica too, which I found it quite nice until I saw St Peter Basilica in Vatican City.
By evening, we finally found a Gondola we can take, so glad, and it was close to nightfall already. I can't believe im on a gondola in Venice! It's simply nice to glide through Venice in the evening on a gondola, through the small canals and lanes and hear nothing but the calm soothing sound of water.
On the gondola, our rower is so slack, still can ans hp call while rowing.
We had an alfresco dinner at a restaurant where I had Pasta. After dinner was a nice nightwalk in the city. Forget about Paris, as I declare Venice as the most romantic city. Imagine enjoying the feeling of being lost in the city, strolling in Piazza San Marco at night greeted by the cacophony of orchestra at various cafes or simply stopping for a few moments to enjoy a gelato. Thats simply stupendo(great in italian)! And I love Italian! Top Left: Ponte di Rialto, largest bridge in Venice. Piazza San Marco at night.
2nd day morning we went to this nearby island called Lido as there's a beach there. We didnt do much at the beach, just did our usual jumping, Emo shots there. As always. After that went to the bazaar street to do last minute shopping.
I never felt so FAT in my life before. Total gelato scoops count for Italy fell short of a perfect 10. I scored 9 scoops in 5 days. WQ ranks 2nd with 8 scoops. Gosh. Not forgetting the countless Pizzas, Pasta, cheese, mozerella I put in my mouth. Some moments of Gelato on me
I will blog about Pisa, Rome and Vatican City in the next few days. Stay Tune~
Tell me Im not FAT~
