Roma, ItalyAs one of the world's oldest city, Rome has a very interesting architecture in its city. Right out of the Metro, we saw the famous Colossum right ahead. It's a weird contrast, how such an ancient structure is now amidst the busy city. The Colossum is smaller than I imagined. I wasn't very overwhelmed once again, but indeed marvel at how it managed to be preserved till today, even though it's a far cry from what it used to be. Wild beast, gladiators once reigned the place. And I have to comment on the 'gladiators' outside the colossum, waiting for people to take pics with them for a nominal fee. They look totally UncooL! I dun understand why would people take pics with them.

We saw the nearby arc of Constantine too, which supposedly commemorates the victory of Constantine. And we went to tour the Palatino Hill as well.
And then, there was a sudden downpour. Got drenched, moods dampened, cold, wet, uneasy. Felt like going back hostel to change. After 2 hrs, the rain stopped. It was bright and shiny once again. We continued our city walk, had gelato again. Went to the Pantheon, visited some Piazza, saw the famous Fountain di Trevi, supposedly the most beautiful fountain in Rome, which I totally agree. The place was simply teeming with tourists snapping incessantly. Some of Rome's Architecture
The famous Fountain di Trevi
Then we walked to the Spagna, or so called the Spanish Steps, which is Rome's most crowded square and the bottom of the steps is Bernini's fountain. On the way we saw the sunset and Eugene remarked it's kinda like Bahamas. Haa.
We walked the shopping street, which houses brands like LV, Gucci, Prade etc. Window shopping can be so pleasurable. Finally. Our long-awaited dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. Thanks to Eugene that we are all hooked to HRC now. I bought a shirt there, and a nice gladiator guitar badge. Im now so hooked to HDC. And the food! OMGGGG. It's superB terrific. We had a nice starter with potato skins, onion rings, chicken wings. The BBQ sauce is simply heavenly plus heavenly. We asked for 4 times at least for more sauces. As WQ remarked, we are really not budget travellers at all. Just a group of people who tried to act like backpackers by carrying a backpack around. Lol.
