Yellow FellowsLunch was so-so with the exception of the free flow of sugarcane which tasted extremely good. We were surprised by J.Lo arrival and short talk with us. In the evening, we interacted with the Vietnamese students and played games together with them. The food for dinner was quite widespread, and there is even a BBQ which serves Kebab and Sausage. After dinner, most of us went to Phung’s house as her parents invited us to have desserts. It’s like Tang Yuan in Spore. Her house is very simple, and I think they really lead a very simple life. I was so shag after that, so did not really have plans for the night. But I still went with Jas, CH and Kx to walk to have supper and buy water. It was then a short but sweet nite for me.
Sunday morning we checked out Chancelor Hotel to move to the backpackers’ motel to stay the last 2 nites. It’s like a terrace house with rooms for tourists, where we had to remove our footwear before going up. And our group of 25 was splited into 3 motels, with me sharing with ZL & KX. After settling, we walked to Ben Than Market for last minute shopping, which I spent quite a lot. Then we had lunch at this shop which Bill Clinton had eaten before. The food is seriously not bad, though the prices is like Spore food. After lunch, we went Saigon Square to continue shopping where I bought a shirt. Then me, Xuan Ting, Jas, Susan & ZL took cab to go another street to shop. I did not really get anything there sadly. And we had KFC again for dinner!
We decided to take cab to another street to walk but after awhile, me , ZL and Susan walked back to motel as we were quite tired of walking. We left our stuff at motel then we took a walk to the night market and saw the rest walking back. I managed to get some things there and we even went Lotteria for supper. It’s a local fast food chain in Vietnam, more popular than KFC. The motel is very comfortable even though it looks very budget, but it makes me feel so at home as the staff are so friendly and nice despite us imposing on them in the middle of the night. And it’s more fun when 3 people are sharing a room.
